When you are living in crisis for 10
years, it is no longer something passing. Especially if there is no
end in sight. It becomes your way of life. Every hope withers after
5-6 years, because you have to adjust to the new conditions or suffer
the consequences for waiting for things to return to what you knew as
“normality”. The new generation, already in their early twenties,
simply don't have any other way of life to compare with. This is
their reality. So, it will take time for them to realize that this
is not normal, that this s not good, that there is something else,
better, and they can fight for it. They probably don't realize we are
in crisis, until the next one. But this crisis, which is not a
natural phenomenon, but a man made one, exists for a reason. And if
the reason for existing brings profits to the instigators, it is only
a matter of time for a crisis to happen again and again, every time
in a slightly different manner, until... Until there is no more gain
for the instigators. So, globally the ecological crisis, is so huge
and devastating that an economical crisis at a small place on earth
that has been going on for 10 years already, can't be news, any
longer. Yet, even if it is no news that 10 million people in Greece
are slipping into darkness, also it is no news that Portugal, Italy
and many other countries are experiencing similar realities. And they
don't make headlines, because the crime is a continuous one, so if
there is no change in the falling, well, it is no news. There is no
change in the horizon, until we hit rock bottom. Or maybe there is.
Of course not a solution that will help the people and indeed the
country out of the crisis, but the final take over of any public
asset, of any private wealth, of the history of Greece, of the will
power of people to stay and fight for their country, for the country
itself. And this change, is going to be global, but will affect
mostly the countries that are already in crisis. Money have been
accumulated by financial institutions and the new global crisis will
create such shortage to basic goods, jobs and
money, that people will be forced to sell their remaining assets for
peanuts to the final institutions. Until then money will be spread
around so people can buy useless things, or tick their stupid
bucket-lists, so they will be hooked on their frivolous desires and
the tool that makes them possible: money. It is a drug like
addiction, that eliminates every other way of doing things, in the
process. So everything becomes money, from buying a loaf of bread,
paying your water and electricity bills, delivering a child to the
world, connecting to the internet, enrolling to a university, to
taking a trip or even caring for an ill person or burying your dead.
Every little or big thing that until 60 years ago, communities were
helping each other within their folds, without money exchanging
hands, are now all translated into money and paid for dearly. And the
cost of money is controlled by the financial institutions. On the
other hand, all the spare time people were supposed to be able to
free from this trade, is being lost in front of a TV , a computer and
mobile phone screen. And the animal, people had dormant in them, will
wake up and demand its share. It sounds bleak, but thousands of years
of human history, go to prove that there has not been an evolution on
this part of the human behavior. Only ways to cover up.
