I am writing to you in the hope that after 10 years you will have the time to read and the necessary experience to understand what I am writing to you.
I am not sure how things will have evolved by then, but I am absolutely certain that they will not be good for the majority of people. Physical catastrophes, wars and terrifying events that I can not even imagine, will take place. During the same time you will be worried about your studies, a paying job and possibly your very own families. But all these worries will probably take the back seat as you strive to solve the urgent instead of dealing with the important.
And all this because people in power now, are so ignorant of the consequences of the damage of the environment, not from the climate change, but from the inexplicable economic exploitation that is leaving the world in ruins. Politicians' actions are just conferences and big fat words. Politicians are just the pawns, ambassadors of big business and their purpose is to simply find excuses to stall, to gain some more time while their masters profit, bringing situations to critical condition and then offering a solution that looks necessary and inescapable. Consequently we end up with bad solutions to problems that could have been solved earlier and with better outcome.
The world is vast, but the social media create the impression that the world is small, packed in a screen and hateful if you have a unique opinion. It is called cancel culture or WOKE. And it is the most dangerous thing that is happening in the internet and influences real life in an immeasurable degree. People's opinions are no longer free and the majority of controlled ideas are hostile towards the opinions that do not match their own. Some people are ready to judge other people, that they do not know, from just one sentence they posted on the social networks. Of course you can not create a social network with people you don't know or based on hateful judgemental attitude.
It is the death of society as we knew it and the stillbirth of a new society.
I hope that it isn't so, but I want you to know I tried, but failed.
Love
your dad
